Microcurrent is supported by more than 35 years of research. Microcurrent was first used in the medical and physiotherapy fields to activate the skin’s natural chemicals responsible for health and vitality. Injury to the body disrupts normal electrical activity. Microcurrent produces electrical signals, like those naturally occurring when the body is repairing damaged tissues. By applying similar electrical currents, the healing process is enhanced.

Microcurrent increases ATP levels, increases free amino acids in injured cells and promotes ion transfer through cell membranes. These factors contribute to accelerated cellular repair and age prevention.

Cells, fascia and collagen in the human body tend to hold a “memory.” Injury, trauma, environmental factors and poor nutrition contribute to a paralyzation of cell membrane channels where nutrition cannot enter the cell and toxic waste builds up because it cannot be excreted. Microcurrent is believed to erase past memory of injury or trauma by opening the cell membranes and allowing waste products to be excreted and new nutrition to be accepted.
MICROCURRENT IN ESTHETICS
During a typical microcurrent procedure, a skin care professional will apply conductive gel and water based serums, based on the client’s skin health goals. Low-level current, mimicking the body’s natural frequencies, will be painlessly applied with gloves or wands. As the muscles are sculpted into lifted positions, the increased ATP, collagen, and elastin enables the skin to hold the position for a longer period of time. Effects with microcurrent are cumulative. Although results are commonly seen after one session, a series of microcurrent sessions are advised to obtain desired and sustained results.
